Design forces

The Design forces design result shows the internal design forces and moments used for reinforced concrete design checks.

Design forces is available for:

  • RC bar, RC shell longitudinal reinforcement, RC shell shear reinforcement

Result selection

To display Design forces results, first select the basis for the result:

  • Load combinations – then select the specific load combination
  • Load groups – then select the group type and the force or moment component to maximize – the governing combination for that component is generated automatically

In addition, select the force or moment component itself:

  • for RC bar, the component N, Ty', Tz', Mt,SV, My' or Mz'
  • for RC shell, longitudinal reinforcement, the component mx'/mr, my'/mt, nx'/nr or ny'/nt, each at bottom/top or max/min
  • for RC shell, shear reinforcement, the component vEd or vEd,Red
info

When the basis is Load groups, the component selected here is the same one being maximized to generate the governing load combination.

Only the selections relevant to the chosen design result are shown.

Result display

Design forces use the Graph, Contour lines, Colour palette and Sections display types. For the RC bar, only the Graph and Colour palette display types are available.
