Check

Timber design Check helps you verify timber member utilization based on selected calculation data and review results in table format.

Check

Tool palette

When you activate Check, a tool palette opens.

Check tool palette

The tool palette has two options, but options may not be available for every subtype:

  • Calculation - drop-down menu to choose the check basis:

    • Load combinations
    • Load groups
  • Display table - checkbox that opens the utilization table.

Utilization table

The Utilization table is split into two tables:

  • Groups table (top) – shows design groups and ungrouped single elements.

  • Element details table (bottom) – shows detailed utilization results for elements in the selected group, or for the selected ungrouped single element.

Groups and element columns by subtype

The group and element tables correspond to the timber auto design table for the selected subtype, using the same columns.

Groups columns:

  • Group – group name, or the element name when the row is an ungrouped single element.

  • Design parameters – parameters used for the design.

  • Applied profile – list of profiles applied to the group.

  • Applied fire protection – (for fire design subtypes) list of fire protection materials applied to the group.

  • Applied type – (for Orthotropic panel and CLT panel) the type of material applied to the group.

  • Max – maximum utilization in the group.

  • Min – minimum utilization in the group.

Element columns for Timber bar and Timber bar, fire design subtypes:
  • Bar – element name.

  • Max – maximum utilization from all verifications.

  • T – combined bending and axial tension.

  • C – combined bending and axial compression.

  • S – combined shear and torsion, according to 6.1, 7, 6.1,8.

  • FB1 – flexural buckling around axis 1, according to 6.3.2.

  • FB2 – flexural buckling around axis 2, according to 6.3.2.

  • LTB – lateral-torsional buckling utilization, according to 6.3.3.

  • AB – bending at apex, according to 6.4.3.

  • AT – tension at apex, according to 6.4.3.

  • DL – deflection limit utilization (not shown for fire design subtypes).

Element columns for Orthotropic panel, CLT panel, and CLT panel, fire design subtypes:
  • Panel – element name.

  • Max – maximum utilization.

  • Sx+ – tension in the x-axis, according to 6.2.3.

  • Sx- – compression in the x-axis, according to 6.1.4 and 6.2.4.

  • Sy+ – tension in the y-axis, according to 6.2.3.

  • Sy- – compression in the y-axis, according to 6.1.4 and 6.2.4.

  • Txy – shear in xy-plane, according to 6.1.7.

  • Tx – shear in xz-plane, according to 6.1.7.

  • Ty – shear in yz-plane, according to 6.1.7.

  • SI – shear interaction (CLT panel and CLT panel, fire design only).

  • TS – tension and shear (CLT panel and CLT panel, fire design only).

  • CS – compression and shear (CLT panel and CLT panel, fire design only).

  • Bu – buckling utilization, according to 6.3.2.

  • To – torsional check utilization (CLT panel and CLT panel, fire design only).

  • DL – deflection limit utilization (shown for Orthotropic panel and CLT panel, not shown for CLT panel, fire design).

Table options and buttons

The bottom part always contains:

  • Show only visible objects in the table – limit rows to currently visible model objects
  • Check – run check for selected table row
  • Delete – delete applied quantity for selected table row
