Periodic excitation
Use Periodic excitation to analyse the structural response under harmonic or periodically varying loads.

- Setup… – opens the Periodic excitation options dialogue
Periodic excitation – setup
Calculation parameters
- Δt – time step used in the calculation
- t end – total duration of the periodic excitation analysis
Damping type
Choose the damping model used in the analysis:
- Rayleigh – Rayleigh damping, defined by mass- and stiffness-proportional coefficients
- Kelvin–Voigt – Kelvin–Voigt viscoelastic damping model
Rayleigh damping matrix
- α – mass-proportional damping coefficient
- β – stiffness-proportional damping coefficient
Damping factor
- ξ – percentage damping used in the periodic excitation analysis
