Analysis results grouping

Analysis results in FEM-Design are organised into logical groups to help you navigate, filter and interpret results efficiently.

Results are first grouped by analysis category. Each category is then expanded into sub-groups that correspond to calculation groups. Within each sub-group, one or more result types can be available, depending on the analysis settings and model content.

info

The grouping structure follows the same principles as the Calculate tool and is directly linked to the type of analysis performed.

Main analysis groups

Analysis results are divided into the following main groups:

  • Auxiliary calculations – supplementary calculations supporting the main analysis
  • Static and stability analysis – results from static, staged, and stability-related calculations
  • Dynamic analysis – results from modal, seismic, and time-dependent calculations

Each group is described below together with its sub-groups.

Auxiliary calculations

This group contains supporting calculation results that are not part of a full structural analysis but are used as input or reference data.

  • Bedding moduli – results related to calculated or assigned bedding stiffness values
Static and stability analysis

This group contains results from static load analyses, stability checks, and related envelope calculations.
It is typically the most extensive result group in standard structural models.

  • Load cases – results from individual load cases
  • Moving load maximum – envelope results from moving load analysis
  • Moving load influence line / surface – influence results for moving loads
  • Construction stages – results from staged construction analysis
  • Imperfections – results including geometric or load imperfections
  • Load combinations – results from defined load combinations
  • Stability analysis – results related to global or local stability checks
  • Maximum of load combinations – envelope results from multiple load combinations
  • Maximum of load groups – envelope results grouped by load groups
Dynamic analysis

This group contains results from analyses where inertia, mass distribution, and time-dependent effects are considered.

  • Eigenfrequencies – modal analysis results
  • Seismic analysis – results from seismic load cases and combinations
  • Footfall analysis – vibration assessment results for human-induced loading
  • Moving load dynamic – dynamic effects from moving loads
  • Time history – ground acceleration – time history results using ground motion input
  • Time history – excitation force – time history results using applied force input
  • Periodic excitation – results from harmonic or periodic loading
  • Storey fundamental frequency – storey-based frequency evaluation results

Result types within sub-groups

Each sub-group can contain one or more result types, depending on the selected analysis and model configuration.

info

The result types may be further grouped if needed, for example the Moving load dynamic sub-group has additional groups for Statical displacement and Dynamical displacement, both of which contain Translational displacements and Rotational displacements results.
